Yes, trim is coming, it was the last thing to do before cleaning it all up & painting tomarrow! I have a whole mess load of Cherry Wood that I am gonna Season it with, any suggestions on step by step on how you would season these things/smokers with Lard or Grease or ??? inside & outside??? after the paint sets for a day or 2 or ??

Thanks

Great doors. Blue knows the meat machine is about to be open. Sorry I missed the wacky pics. Show us, we can take it. Shocked

For the inside, clean it and wipe it down with vegetable oil and heat it up like a cast iron skillet.

That Kodiak stove fire box looks like a beast! That whole rig must weigh 800 to 1000 lbs. You need to throw a motor in that thing so you can drive it around.

I hope these little step by step shots are OK this step by step thing is new to me

Pics of the door flange being added

cooling each tack & beed off with a wet cold towl so the door doesnt think about warping

The next pics are of the fire box wood burning grate, Smaller Grate Tacked to the Larger grate for strength duraility & has the ability to burn 18" peices of wood or large peices also has the smaller grate to either handle a massive amount of charcoal as well with a 3 1/2 " space below it to catch ash as well

By buddy Phreewil grinding it out ---> Rolling Eyes (The Larger Grate)

Both Peices Large & Small are actually tacked together making it one Solid Heavy Wood Burning Solid Steel Grate & completly removable from the Firebox for ash removal

Pressure wash the inside of the firebox & the rest of the TANK & Paint tomarrow, along with a whole heep of Apple & Cherry Wood just awaiting to season this bad boy up!! more pics coming

Thanks

icecoldkicks Wink

The wood Burning Stove was free on Craigslist, I didn't imagine that it was gonna weigh 500 or 600 Lbs. took 5 grown men to lift it with grunting & moning, & refrigerator dolly flexed & wouldnt even budge! Most wood burning stoves like that & fireplace inserts, usually come double walled, with the outer wall sitting 3" off of the actual interior wall like a complete exterior shell, I always chop em up to drop some weight off of them, then get rid of the old fire brick, more weight gone, then pressure wash out all of the old Crap that has been burned through out the years, then fire it up with cooking lard & firewood, That Kodiak, by far was the heaviest wood burning stove I have ever delt with, 1/2 " plat all the way around, plus the shel was as thick "Whoa" Shocked

all in all, it should be a great peice when complete & cookn, I really see no problems with holding temp with this Tank, I LUV it though! Old wood burning stoves give each cooker its own individual character, & recycling a peice of history is cool as well,Thing should last a long long time!! Cool
