Thanks. I saw that one but it has crushed pineapple and this one did not. I guess I could leave it out. I was just looking to see if anyone had a recipe that they had tried. It taste like a sauce that a local caterer used to make but has gone out of business. _________________ Traeger 124, 125 |

I am the self-proclaimed King of Google.
After Googling for this recipe, the first ten hits I found had the same recipe as what my first post was. All had the crushed pineapple. Sorry. Maybe you will have more patience and keep Googling until you find one without it. _________________ Jimmie Ohio

I've found the same thing also. I think I'll give it a try without the crushed pineapple. And I googled for the first time. Thanks. _________________ Traeger 124, 125 |

I've made this recipe before.
to me was a bit too sweet / syrupy for my taste. But, it was worth a try - and you might think it is fanatastic _________________ "I can't promise it will be fast, but I can promise it will be the best BBQ you ever tried."

Old thread, but more information. These are great wings, works on chicken quarters too.
Cajun Bourbon Chicken
1 C Bourbon
1 C Soy Sauce
½ C Brown Sugar
1 t Paprika
Pinch Red Pepper Flakes
1 T Molasses
3 Cloves Garlic, smashed
2 T Fresh Grated Ginger
1-1/2 t Onion Powder
1-1/2 t Garlic Powder
6 Leg quarters, divided
Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions:
Combine all ingredients (except chicken) for marinade (may be processed in a blender). Set aside ½ cup of this marinade in a clean jar (do not use to marinate chicken – this portion will be used for basting the chicken during the grilling). Keep refrigerated.
Put marinade into a Ziploc bag with chicken pieces and distribute evenly. Marinate chicken for 6 to 12 hours in refrigerator, turning occasionally.
Remove chicken from marinade and drain. Allow to sit at room temperature while grill heats up. Grill over medium high heat (grill open) for 5 minutes, then close grill and reduce heat; continue cooking over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, or until chicken is done (juices will run clear when pierced with a fork). Baste with fresh marinade every few minutes, turning chicken to cook both sides evenly.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Don't remember where I got it at, but it is good. He!! it may have been here.
Edit -- Caution: Measure the bourbon 1st, otherwise there may be none left. _________________ Gunny 3073/4044/8411
