briskets get "INJECTED" with something or other?

I have never injected a brisket in my life but it seems this is more popular now than maybe it was 20 years ago when I started.

Thanks for the info..........."Holy Smoke"

I would say that the percentage injecting is higher among the folks getting calls than it is with the rest of the teams.

I inject with butcher's just like the directions say.

I have seen my scores go from 51/52 and the like to 8th in my last contest.

coming from someone who had never even scene a brisket before he started comp cooking, Butcher's shortened the learning curve ALOT!

It should go without sayiing that I prefer Butcher BBQ's product. Not only does it work but the owner is a GREAT guy, HANDSOM, witty, sharp dresser, and the list can go on and on in my book.

Well if the owner is that great a guy he can send me a free sample and I'd be more than happy to give a review! Very Happy

Looks like I will be injecting my next brisket....maybe Saturday Smile

As for Butchers and FAB-B I will most likely try both eventually to see if I like them. They seem pricey though...but if good I'm sure worth the CA$H Very Happy

My injection is pretty simple. Beef broth, onion powder, garlic powder, whiskey.

Think about the reason for injecting.

The judges will get ONE piece of meat and will likely only take one bite of that piece (on average).

That's the major reason why you have to work on flavor so hard. It's not like eating two or three slices and getting lots of bark.
