Hey WSM lovers (ralph is one)... I would like to solicit your ideas and opinions of what Weber can do to improve this puppy...
I am not bashing weber here; I just know how great it is now; and how awesome it could be.... _________________ NEW WSM 22.5 ---- WOW!!!! This is the REAL DEAL (replaces my old standby WSM w/MODS)

realistically, I doubt they can do much more than 20-22" dia on the outside without a major shift in costs... you thinking a couple of inches in dia? or? _________________ NEW WSM 22.5 ---- WOW!!!! This is the REAL DEAL (replaces my old standby WSM w/MODS)

A door to get to the bottom rack without removing the top rack.
A thermometer.
Tighter charcoal grate so chunks don't fall through.
I have done mods for 2 of three and I think the stacker would give you the door. |

I'm actually thinking of that size a smoker. 21-22" would be perfect! _________________ If there's a new way - I'll be the first in line. But it better work this time! |

Large hinged door that fits right, for the middle section.
22" OD
Better charcoal grate.
Handles on the middle section

Making it a 22 inch would be great. And fixing that front door to a hinged model is a good idea too. I prefer that they continue to come WITHOUT a therm. Why pay for it? I use a maverick, and would not have wanted to pay an additional 20 or 30 dollars for a therm i would not need. Plus, with a guru eyelet, you can choose your own therm.
But for 200 bucks, you cannot beat them as a cooker they way they are. I hear the ProBBQ is OK, but have read some bad reviews too. But i know when i order a WSM, it will be here in a week. ProBBQ has a LOOOONG way to go before they get their shipping down. |
