The only A-B product I could ever tolerate was the michelob golden draft,
And the only reason I drank that was becuase I was captaining the yacht that belonged to Peter Busch for a weekend!!

I was his hired captain for the first annual Ducks Unlimited billfish tournament back in 1990 or 1991

Miller sponsored the captains party the first night after fishing, I was heading off the boat at the municipal marina and peter ask's "Where ya goin?" My reply was "To go get a beer" When he reminded me that the boat we are on is "The Southern Eagle" with a mural of a marlin with a budweiser label on it and that there is plenty of beer on board!

So I grabbed a michelob, downed that as fast as I could and kept refilling with Miller genuine draft when I could do it without getting caught.

We took second place in the tourney, we were first most of the 2 days until someone had a legal release on a black marlin. I wish I still had all the tourney shirts from that time in my life!

not to mention Bush Gardens and Sea World, and about another 2 dozen subsiduaries.

and least we forget.....

Bud Light Presents Real Men of Genius
(Real Men of Genius)

This Memorial Day we salute you Mr. Gasoline BBQ Starter
(Mr. Gasoline BBQ Starter)
Never mind charcoal chimneys, and easy lighting briquettes. The only way to start a real BBQ is with a gallon of 93 octane and a big book of matches
(Light up the sky)
Who needs eyebrows? You're hungry and you've got 7 pounds of lamb shanks ready to go
(That's a lot of kabobs)
You don't just defy convention, you defy warning labels, and common sense
(Very low I.Q.)
So crack open an ice cold Bud Light O' Prince of the Pyrotechnic, because no one makes a backyard mushroom cloud like you do

You have to remember also, many people on this forum are not from the U.S. so they don't care as much about american institutions or "buy american"

The only AB products I regularly drink is the Michelob family. I don't care for Budwater.

I guess it's good for the company to remain in American hands though. But when you look at it most people wouldn't have known and wouldn't have cared. Foriegn takeovers are common. Folks just don't hear about them unless the new owners come in a make big changes.

I guess ignorance is bliss.

While the point of my posts was more to point that AB is much much more than a single crappy beer, (in fact if they don't brew your beer, they probably have equity in the company that does) than trying to make it a "Buy American!" post (although, that does mead a lot to me). I would however wager the vast, vast majority of members of this fourm are indeed US citizens.

Well, even those of you that are "beer snobs" are bound to consume something that goes through A-B's hands.

Try an ice cold Stella Artois (Belgium) sometime. IMO, that's a great beer!

I actually enjoy a number of A-B's products. Glad they're still good 'ol americans.

I didn't think you were doing that so I apologize if it came off like that. I've just seen some stuff under cookers where people talk about buying american and others simply don't understand because they're not from here. I do my best to buy american and will continue to. St. Louis especially is getting nailed. If not mistaked, we've lost more jobs than 48 other states and gained fewer jobs than 48 states for a handful of years

stlouBBQ, at least we have two things in common being cardinal and bbq fans.......and I completely understand your point about being glad that we didn't loose an American Icon in Anheuser-Busch. But I have to agree with most others in this thread that there are plenty of better choices when it comes to beer. Especially when teamed with a good CIGAR,,,,I mean budweiser will ruin the taste of a good stogie Cool

Go Cardinals....Remember Cubbie Lovers it's only June Shocked

I would like for the company to stay in American hands, but I dont think an internet petition is gonna help much. Confused

I didn't think I cared much about AB until I saw Landshark on that list, my new go-to.

As a parrot head I was excited to try Landshark Larger (and when it first came out, they tried to hide the fact that it was brewed and bottled by AB). I was disapointed with LS, . It remined me of a corona, but a bit too sweet for my taste.

However, the other day I was offered a new Bud light with lime and was pleasently surprised. If you like corona light with lime, try the bud light lime.

While skiing last winter I cam across the Budweiser & Clamato Chelada. IT sounded so disgusting I had to try it. the first two sips surpirsed me as it was really drinkable (espically if you like bloody marys) but by the third sip I didn't want any more. It got nasty quick.

"In addition to brewing its own beer, Anheuser-Busch also is responsible for the importation and distribution of the following international beers in the U.S.:

Harbin Lager
Tiger Beer
Kirin
Bass Ale
Boddingtons
Beck's
Hoegaarden
Leffe
Stella Artois
Löwenbräu
Tennent's Ale
Budvar Czechvar"

InBev brews Stella Artois!

I always find it funny when something like this stirs up the protectionist in everyone... If you are a PUBICLY TRADED company, there is no reason that anyone ANYWHERE can't buy your stock. Currently I'm sure stocks in A-B are held by people across the whole world. What you have to ask yourself is this.... WHAT WILL THIS CHANGE? The answer.... NOTHING!

Big company's buy up smaller companies all the time... regardless of country/race/religion.. this is all about business.

What big company's like InBev are doing isn't about wanting the "Bud" brand, so much as it is about wanting to establish a better network for distribution and marketing of all their products.
When the major Canadian beer companies were bought out, everyone up here was up in arms... "how could we lose our iconic beer brands!" But guess what has followed?? Those beers are still being brewed and are still top sellers.

What has ALWAYS been the case here in Canada is that beer has always been brewed "under license" by Molson or Labatt or Sleeman for all sorts of other names. Stroh's, Coors, Bud, Sapporo, and a million others are just brewed locally by the big brewery's with their excess capacity and the company's save thousands on freight.

Welcome to Economics 101... good or bad, company's can't say "we're public" but then cry when someone wants to buy them.

I'm ditching my Ford truck today- the motor says "Made in Windsor, Ontario"

J/K I love Canadians! Very Happy

It's the wiring that needs to go, I believe it was made south of the border?

Sorry occifer, I got no headlights. I only buy made in the USA! Razz

Yupp, it's a global economy, and the world gets smaller every day...................................

I buy Redwing boots made in Minnesota. Best boots ever, they truly are worth the money. But how many hard working construction guys do you think spend $170.00 on boots? Most go the $50.00 Wally World route...............................

But what the heck, I'll play along and buy some A.B. products Amber Bock this weekend and do my part to support the company! Very Happy

I’ll second that BBQMAN. I’m going to pick up a six pack of Amber Bock after work.
