This is my project for the summer. Hope to have it
done by Oct. when we head south. The tank is 6Ft. wide
and 4Ft. I striped down an old pop-up trailer to the
frame. It will be propane fired with a shelf for charcoal
and wood. Will post pictures as I go along.

Curt, You said with a shelf for coal & wood? So is it going to be just a grill or another DP. Either way looks like a great project pc.

It's going to be like my other cookers when I am using propane, with the burners in the cooking chamber, the shelf/heat deflector will be over the burners, I can place wood chunks on the shelf for smoke or if I want to use it as a grill I can place charcoal on the shelf. It will have two burners so I can regulate the heat from side to side, kind of like a DPP with out the fire box.

The plan is to keep this rig up north where I have access to wood and do some multi day jobs.

And keep the new one down south where my wood supply is limited and so is my space.

Good luck with your build Curt! Very Happy

Curt is one the biggest "boys" you are ever likely to meet! Cool

My standard answer to that one Hillbilly is that "you better feel again" or "if you see a boy kiss his arse and give him $50.00". Cool

I'm thinking it was a bad choice of rhyme, not an insult! Wink

Today I finished cleaning the inside of the tank, then
I got the doors cut in, used a sawzall and got a nice
clean cut. Went with a three foot door and a two foot
door this way a pig or two will slide in easily.

Milt, this is kinda a hijack, but not really. I've got my eye on your roof system on the trailer... What would you do different if anything ? Will you pm me with some more detailed pics ? Good lookin' stuff you have going. Anyone who attacks a piece of pipe that big with a sawzall is welcome for supper here anytime....
