|
|
For the last 2yrs i have been smoking on a Brinkmann
Deluxe Gourmet. I am now looking to move up to an off set smoker becuase i need to make larger amounts of food. I have been looking at the homedepot and lowes offsets and they seem to have gotten better over the years. I would really like to try and get the most cooking space and the least modification needed since i need this by the 4th of july.
I have look at LINK and looked at getting the side fire box and also LINK
i like the char-broil becuase the opening is just the front allowing for a second shelf to be there for potatos and corn etc.
if there are any other smokers i should consider please let me know |

| I was looking at those about a year ago also till I found the Barbeque Galore site and I settled on the Bar-b-chef smoker. I got a good deal at $179.00 plus shipping. I researched it on the web and found nothing but good reviews so I bought it. I think there tough to find right now but I love mine and am doing some of the best "Q"I've ever done but thats just my 2cents worth. Doing St. louis style ribs and a prime rib as we speak. Good luck with your purchase. |

I second the Bar-B-Chef from BBQ's Galore. Most of the small-offset mods are built in and the heavy guage steel construction is built to last a long time. It helps to hold the temps even as well, especially in cold weather! I've had mine for two years now and love it (so do my family, friends and neighbors - - but not my cardiologist! )
I have also heard they are difficult to find right now, reportedly due to design changes... but who knows. you might want to find a local store to see if you can buy their floor model. Also check on craigslist.org as I have seen a few for sale there over the years, depending on where you live. _________________ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Like smo-ken said craigslist is a good place to find a nice smoker. YOu may have to scrape rust off, paint and get some replacemnt parts. It pays off. I got an original OK Joe 16" for $50. I spent another 300 fixing it up. But if you go to the horizon site. A brand new one costs around $700. Just be careful about the rust. _________________ TW
