Can anyone give any advice on the Weber One Touch grill and the B.G.E.
When I went to cook dinner this evening, I grab ahold of my old grill and the stinkin' bottom fell out so I figure it's time to move on. I'm looking to buy a new grill to burn steaks, burgers, and what not and was needing to get some advice on what's the best deal on the above mentioned or not mentioned. Thanks for the thoughts everyone. _________________ Thanks to all:

The weber is hard to beat at only $150 or less depending on the model. I have owned a few of them over the years and I usualy pass them forward long before they wear out, except one that I'v had for almost 20 years. It has been repaired several times and has been to all my partys. In my opinion the weber kettle is the benchmark of all grilling.
The BGE is a very fine cooker with a price range of about 350-$1000. The folks that have them say they are worth every penny and as soon as I can pry the greenbacks from my hand I'll have one too. From what I have read in the last several years the BGE is a very versital and efficient cooker capable of cooking at or near 1000* or cooking at 250* for long periods of time. The Naked Whiz has an artical about it here.

Thank's for the info American West. I checked a store here at home today that has the B.G.E. and found out they ain't cheap. I can't see paying that kind of dough to burn burgers and steaks. I do all my slow smoking on pits so buying the B.G.E. would not be a good choice for me. Thanks for the reply though. _________________ Thanks to all:

The BGE is a great efficient pit if you are not cooking for loads of people. It does not hold a ton of meat, but will burn for 16 hours on a FRACTION of the lump as your pit will. Not much tending either. They are dang pricey too. As soon as i have a grand to blow, i will add one to my kettle and twin WSM arsenal. For now, i am resigned to borrowing my fathers! |
