Added a slide show of your pit build to the mix up top.
Hope ya don`t mind. |
Thanks Jeff T, I watched the slides you must have been up all night real nice work I appreciate it and thank you. |
I guess i should have asked first but out of all the ones up their no one has said "no don`t do it"
It don`t take any time to make em but some times my internet times out then i have to start all over again. When i make the slides with 40 -50 pics & i "time out" it gets frustrating a hell.
Needed to add one anyway its been a while.
If you ever get another 6 x 24 hunk of pipe and your coming through Norfolk Nebraska don`t be afraid to stop by and drop it off. |

K.A.M. I'm very impressed. It looks real clean and professional. How much money do you have invested ? Not counting your labor.
Thanks for taking the time to keep us up to date and sharing your knowledge. |

Does this woman have ANY idea how much that cooker is worth???? That would cost her a couple thousand bucks if she were to buy it! _________________ If there's a new way - I'll be the first in line. But it better work this time! |

| What did the painter do to prepare for paint? Sand blast? Painted both inside and out? What type of paint? I'm thinking of building one myself in the near future. Awesome job on the smoker. |

| Thanks plbass, the cooker was white metal blasted inside and out per my request. Then the outside was Zinc primed and then wet down to cure the Zinc. Then they applied Pittsburg Pit paint to the outside and masking off not to get any paint on the inside of the cooker or the fire box they did an outstanding job. |

I thought Zink was a problem in cookers. Am I wrong? Isn't that why we stay away from galvanized steel? Asking to learn. Don't know myself. _________________ If there's a new way - I'll be the first in line. But it better work this time! |

monty, the Zinc primer has a very high heat temp rating and is only applied to the outside of the cooker. The inside was masked off so no paint touched the inside of the fire box or the cooking chamber. In the pic with all the doors open all that shiny metal is what we call white metal blasted, they completely remove all rust it had actually started to turn a bit orange with rust before I seasoned it. I hope this helps. |
