J0K3R-X, Thanks for the kind words in between Hurricanes and cleanup it has been hard to get back on this build. First I had to get my shop back on track and now next weekend I will be down at Bolivar helping my best friend try to clean up his mess there. I am sure it will all come even keel before long.

I got a little bit more done and I am pretty close to being through.
I built her fire grate.

And I got the grill grates finished.

And the intake door and lever put on.

And now I am working on the counter weight guide and rest. This will allow the counterweight to rest before the door reaches its stops and then you don't have to pull the weight back to close the door.

Thats when I ran out of Oxygen in my bottle that is.

That is going to be a KILLER pit!!!

Been a bit since I've looked at it and you have made some serious headway!

You sure you'll be able to part with it when you're done? Wink

Thanks CB, in between Hurricanes and cleanups and what have ya this has been a long build. I have been asked that question a lot about giving it up. The way I look at is this, in a way I have been able to bring some of my talent to life and at the same time let someone enjoy the fruits of my labor. I hope she enjoys cooking on it as much as I have had building it.

I Finished the counter weight rest tonight and put the grill hangers on. And I ordered two Tel-Tru Guages today for the cooker. So now all thats left is to load the cooker and bring it to the painter. I talked to them thats next weekend and then Hopefully final pics of a build I have thoroughly enjoyed doing.

Thanks mrcustomsteel, those are the grill grates for the fire box I had to have a place for her to stow them when she is smoking. I built those because she doesnt have a charcoal grill and I was thinking what better place to make a grill for steaks or chicken than your fire box.

k.a.m I have been watching your pit build from day 1.
I have learned a great deal from you on how you put the pit together
also going through the big storm you had down in Texas.
I lived in Houston for a while, saw all kinds of bbq pits down there.

What is the color you are going with on the pit

And if your work slab is bare and it bugs you well my friend
time to start another one

Great build k.a.m

Stilwell Chuck
