i've got about 14 wild birds i'm going to throw on my standard grill/smoker tomorrow morning along with a few racks o ribs.

rubbing and marinating both the quail and ribs tonight to throw on in the morning.

never done quail before. grill will be between 225-250. any advice from you guys?

Wrap it in bacon before you throw it on!

Might need a smaller can - ie juice can, but how about beer can smoked

You'd probably need to have something made especially for quail, they are tiny compared to even the smallest tomato paste cans. Wink

shanedoq is right. wrap them in bacon with toothpicks. it'll help keep them from drying out wich is real easy to do. i usually pull mine off when the bacon is done. ya gotta wactch em pretty close. we do pheasant and dove the same way.
