I have a Brinkmann upright electric smoker and would like to have more control over the temperature. I plan to try a brisket but will not have the time to manually control the temp. Has anyone out there seen this done? Can't find anything with the search feature. I was thinking of an electric oven control that has a range of 140 - 500 degrees. Any thoughts? Idea

The first link is to a plug-and-play device . The second link shows you how to build your own.

Thanks Jet_deck That is exactly what I am looking for. I think I might try to build one for the fun of it.

Why would you have to manually control the temp, ECB runs at 240* all day, which is a fine smoking temperature>
