Sorry i didnt get any pics of the butts cut up, the party was waiting so i hurried them next door, i will say they were moist and the smokering was about an inch in, neighbors got some brats on the grill at the moment, i may or may not be back this evening, more than likely not, so Happy 4th to you and yours.

EXCELLENT WORK thus far Hillbilly!
I didn't get to the lake since my wife hurt her back, so the deer will be a few more weeks.
Have a good weekend!

As I saw in an earlier post, someone thought you didn't have enough air dampers...just crack the door open if you run into a problem. With a stick burner you need plenty of air as you do not want to see a lot of smoke just a clean burning fire. |
Thanks Happy 4th to you as well, Why dont i want smoke? |
to much smoke is bad, and with an all wood fire you will get plenty of smoke flavor even if you don't see it. You want a nice clean burning fire .....that being said, I hope all your food came out good and you had a nice party. And I hope no one lost an appendage due to misuse of fireworks.... _________________ Them Bones BBQ

You can get a Hillbilly out of West Virginia but you can never get West Virginia out of the Hillbilly. I am sure that most folks on this forum are proud of the states and towns they come from, even if they do not live there anymore. _________________ All pigs must burn |

Thanks Chuck, picked the ckicken holder up at home depot heres the link http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100497376&N=10000003+90401
I had to split the chicken and slide it down some because it was to tall to fit into my cooker .
Product description: Our vertical roaster directs heat inside the bird and circulates it around the outside for faster, more even cooking and better flavor. Juices flow down into the breast keeping it moist while the outside gets crisp. The included cone can be used with your favorite marinades or removed to accommodate your favorite beer or soda can. Construction also allows the ability to stir fry some vegetables while cooking your chicken. |

Nice score. That should add plenty of cooking space. It does not look like it's been long since that one had gas in it. This one will test your first cut safety method. _________________ D. Tillery
