What (and where to get) is the best non digital thermometer out there? Looking for two one to install on my smoker and one for checking meat temp. I already own the digital (two probe)ones.

The name that pops up here most often is Tel-Tru. Based on that I ordered one last week and have not received it yet to base an opinion on it.

If you have a BASS PRO SHOP near you, they have a large selection of outdoor cooking equipment and gadgets.

Hey Teleking you were right about the digital thermos. Mine s**t the bed after about four smokes. One probe was reading 20 degrees higher that the other. And I was real careful with them too. Thanks all I will check into the ones you've told me about. Teleking sorry if I came across about giving you crap about the digital ones. You were right I was wrong.

Send it, or bring it back for a refund or replacement.

I use a maverick and love it. It tells the smoker temp as well as the food temp.

No worries, my opinions on them are based on experience as you just found out the way I did. I got some pretty thick skin! Reading that just made my day Wink
