So my brother has a new Napoleon Infrared grill, and this piece was in the box.

not mentioned anywhere in the assembly instructions nor does the dealer know what it is for.
Any help from the gurus is appreciated http://www.flickr.com/photos/brossall/2382463185/in/set-72157604359445027/

It looks like an extension in case you need to use a match to get it lit?

The chain keeps it from "wandering away" from the grill.

I was thinking that to kill time while smoking, you dip the one end of the "wand" into soapy water and blow bubbles with it.

(Hopefully, "Bubbles" isn't the name of your dog...)

I think all new gas grills come with them now. Like BBQMAN said, they hold a match in case you go back in time and have to light the grill with a match.

I think the good folks at Napoleon got a sense of humor and they tossed it in the box with a ton of s--t and giggles knowing there are 1000 people out there trying to figure out just what the he!! that thing is... Laughing
