Well I got up about 4 am this morning to drive to Oklahoma City to teach a class for Texas A&M. Knowing that I would be eating BBQ tonight I purposely did not eat a hardy breakfast. Once here I sat down and looked at the recommendations you guys suggested and decided to give Swadley’s a try @ 2233 W Memorial drive.
Because it was Easter I did not expect a crowd. The place sits right off the toll way and adjacent to the mall. I ordered the sampler platter to give everything a try. Well to put it lightly, it was very good. The meat was cooked correctly and had plenty of flavor. I sampled all of their sauces and while they were a bit sweet, they were very good. The cream corn was hardy and the sweet baked beans had a very unique flavor. Don’t get me wrong they were good, I just could not put my finger on the predominate flavor. If you are in the Oklahoma area and want to try some good BBQ; I would give Swadley’s a try and tell Scott ...Alien sent ya! _________________ https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeloberry |

Pretty much how I feel about Swadley's.... I have had the occasional off day at the location on SW 89th and Western but for the most part their meat is good.
All the sauces are too sweet for my liking but the girlfriend likes her sauce sweeter. So it suits her.... Suits me because their meat is flavorful enough to eat without sauce. _________________ I only believe in two basic food groups... Chili & BBQ
