It depends on how many areas and how many different categories you choose Bryce.
Contact them for a list of what is available, and pick what you want, and then they will quote you a price.

Me again Mike...I did a run through on Hugo's site...very interesting. Looks, though, like mailing a couple thousand will be quite costly. _________________ www.fattyshackbbq.com

Mike,
Think I may really look into doing the same sort of thing. But hell, up here it gave me over 2500 results. How do I save money on mailing all of them? _________________ www.fattyshackbbq.com

We picked the list(s) that we wanted Bryce.
For example: MHP in Pasco, Pinellas, Bradenton, Sarasota, Venice, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda (100 mile radius). Probably 2,000+ names and addresses.
Then we pick and choose for the mail-out, and then come back and do some of the other's 6 month's later.
Once you have all of the lists (pay for the labels as well if you can) you should be good to go for a couple of years.
They send us the names of the activities directors so the info goes to the right person.
One disadvantage is that the activities directors often change periodically. Notice the spot on the post card that reads "please forward to activities director" which covers that.
Obviously, we have also teamed up with an entertainment provider. Offering theme parties to the retirement communities has really payed off big for us. Like mobile BBQ, the entertainment in a niche' business. Joey is not your typical DJ. Getting the audience involved really make things fun, and the clients just love it. I would suggest doing the same if you can find someone reliable like Joe. It's also nice to split the advertising costs.
Best of luck to you! _________________ BBQMAN

Just an update: I just booked my 6th party from this mail-out.
Saturday's in March are booked, and two in February.
One of those also wanted a St.Paddy's Day party in 2010. _________________ BBQMAN

Great job Mike!! Just a word to the wise....In YOUR area it is probably a good idea to be careful booking too far out (2010?) with alot of your clients being "Snowbirds" and all.. (age thing ) _________________ Often imitated but never duplicated |
