Just tried a new place here in town for lunch. The local paper did an article about them, so I had to try them.
Got a half chicken and had them to add a side of the pulled pork. The chicken had a very unusal flavor, don't think I would say it was a good flavor. The pork was run through a chopper and it was too fine, and had little meat texture. The flavor was smokey, but the rub or mop sauce added little to the flavor.
Spoke to the owner and he said he had soaked the chicken in a mix of vinegar and worstershire sauce and tabasco. The first two came across too strong, and the smoke was too strong on the meat, the skin was very dark. And the meat fell off the bone.
Real nice guy, but I hope he works on the flavors, or he might be around long.

What was the name of the place? was it actually BBQ Joint? _________________ Electricity can be dangerous. My nephew tried to stick a penny into a plug. Whoever said a penny doesn't go far didn't see him shoot across that floor. I told him he was grounded. - Tim Allen |

The place is a BBQ place. That's all they have on the menu.
Very limited menu.
Phil's Dream Pit.
Real nice people, and I hope they will make it in thelong run. But they need to work on their flavors.
