Can anyone tell me the easiest way of getting around downtown Atlanta around the congress centre (going to the HPBA), bar driving (we drive on the other side of the road here and I don't want to cause too much mayhem/ alarm).
Looked at the "Marta" site, looks similar to our underground system... is it easy to use? _________________

Where are you staying?
You can take Marta to the Congress Center. It is cheaper and faster than a cab. If going to bars is a big deal at night, I would stay in Buckhead off of Peachtree and so you can walk to the bars and cab it to the Marta Station or the Congress Center. Buckhead is about 5 Miles North East of Downtown.
I usually stay at the Wingate on Piedmont. They have a limo to take you out in Buckhead or drop you off at Marta. Usually aroung $120-$150 a night. Nice hotel though and walking distance to Beluga, Roys of Hawaii, Buckhead Diner, Sambuca, and Fogo de Chao.
There is a small area of Bars Downtown but not much as most people go out in Midtown, Buckhead, or Vinings. _________________ Memories of past exploits: |

I was originally looking at staying downtown, but am now looking midtown, I gather Marta is pretty easy to use?
Thanks for all the info. _________________

I have stayed at the Marriott Suites in Midtown, it is nice but I don't know how accessible Marta is from there. It was a nice hotel.
I would still look at one of the Hotels in Buckhead if night life is something you enjoy and you don't want to drive. _________________ Memories of past exploits: |
