What are the bestand worst sides you've had at any BBQ joint?

Both of my best come from Bucky's BBQ in Greenville, SC. I love this place so much that I've memorized their address (1700 Roper Mountain Road)

Green Beans - Smoky with plenty of pork flavor without being overly salty.

Sweet Potato Souffle - Hands down, the best side I've ever had at a BBQ restaurant. Just sweet enough to be enjoyed while still plainly being a side and not a dessert. Earthy and delicious!

The worst side I ever had was "Southern Greens" at Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse, NY. They were crunchy (@#%$ yankees) and included the chopped up stems.

Mac and cheese...and brunswick stew: Both at Pig N' Chick on Roswell Road in Atlanta/Sandy Springs. Disgusting...almost made me spew... Shocked Both were soups of some gross sort. Have no idea how they stay in business...or at least at that location.

Fried Pickles: Blind Pig Tavern in Athens, GA...not really a bbq joint, but damn good fried pickles!

Best: Mac and Cheese, Lazy Pig, Lavergne, TN

Worst: Brunswick Stew at a local joint around Jackonville. It was the worst Brunswick stew ever, I used to say there was no such thing as bad Brunswick stew.

I don't usually eat the sides... But when I do...

The mac & cheese at both J.R.'s Family BBQ (Norman, OK) and Dales BBQ House (Moore, OK) are pretty good.

The BBQ Cornbread at Spencer's Smokehouse (Midwest City, OK) is really good.

Probably the worst would be the mac & cheese and coleslaw I had at Jack's BBQ (Oklahoma City)... Well that whole meal was pretty bad. Not just the sides

And I know it's a dessert and not a side but the sweet potato pie at Mr. Tee's BBQ (Spencer, OK) is awesome!

Best sides - JJ's BBQ potato salad (next to my mom's recipe the best I have ever found), Murphy's Steakhouse (Winchester, Tx) homemade ranch beans, Rudy's BBQ creamed corn. Im sure there are more, but those are the ones that come to mind first and foremost.

Worst Sides - Round Rock BBQ's tamale cassarole, generic fried okra, and the obligatory store bought premade potato salad. Again, Im sure there are more, but these came to mind first.

It's interesting to read everyone's favs........Good topic!

Here's mine :

Best - beans at J Alexander's (not really just a BBQ place but their beans are a quantum leap from others I've had)

Worst - the greens at Bill Miller's BBQ chain - 'nuff said

Best side (BBQ) - I gotta go with the beans at Jack Stack
Worst side (non BBQ) - At a local Mexican joint, one of my sons ordered some Mac and Cheese. It smelled like feet, and tasted worse.

Worst: Really, really soggy, cold fried okra with a ranch dipping sauce that I'm pretty sure had gone bad. I wish I could remember where it was so I could warn people away...Sorry.
