Fresh from the butcher this morning... 8lb leg of lamb. I'm going to butterfly the leg and rub with a herb paste. I'm going to go low and slow with it until it hits a internal temp of 145-150deg. This is my first so if anybody has tips, tricks, or suggestions let me know.

Well I removed the bone, upper joint, and knee cap, plus I trimmed it up a little.
Butterflied and ready for rub.
The leftovers

Here she is ready for the cook. I rubbed it with a paste consisting of fresh garlic, rosemary, basil, oregano, olive oil, itailan dressing, black pepper, and a sprinkle of creole. Smells great!!

Thanks guy's, I will do more of these for sure, I loved it. Didn't really have any problems with temp management when it started dumping and blowing, all in all a good day.

Sounds like a good reason to pick up a leg... The boss say's so. I enjoyed some lamb and eggs this morning for breakfast and man was it good, the lamb went perfectly with the eggs.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I still can't get my wife to understand why I take pics of food.

Good to hear, they just don't understand the bond between man and his Q. She kept tell us to come out of the storm and finish it in the oven
Was all we had to say about that.

My wife is cool with and understands the need for tending the smoker all night..........the need to tend the smoker no matter the weather.......heck she even understands the addiction (she has a bit of it too)...........but the second the camera comes out.......she just can't stop giggling and busting on me. _________________ Dinger |

One of the things I like about this site is how I can identify with so many people. The wives picking on us about taking pics hits close to home here! She thinks I'm 100% certifiable taking pictures before the rub, after the rub, on the cooker, after cooking, etc. She just doesn't get it. _________________ --Chris Baker
