Well, for years I have worked in Risk Management (insurance, loss control, safety, contract management). One time some folks were trying to figure out how to deal with something and one of them said "Hay, call that Risk Dude and see what he has to say..."

I have been called many other things as well.....

Illinois and Wisconsin have a love/hate relationship. Usually friendly fun is poked back and forth. They call us flatlanders or FIB's . We call them cheeseheads etc. You see if I asked a Wisconsinite how long it takes to go from Milwaukee to Madison he would say "about a 6 pack".

Lots of people ask what the JD stands for so I tell them my dad was drunk when I was born, when the doc called him at the bar and told him I'd arrived the first thing he did was order. The doc mistook it for my name.
I also tell them it stand for "Just Dim". Dad and I had the same first name. When I was a kid we did our banking at the same bank. One day I found a $500 deposit in my account. The next day dad had me change it to JD to cut down on confusion. Besides my nic as a kid was George(?) Confused thanks to a slightly bizzare aunt. Most people I grew up with called me that but I hated it Mad . I mean my name is Jerry, where did that come from. My nephew doesn't even realize my isn't uncle George. My folks called me gut bucket alot too. So I stick with my initials. Course uncle Gut Bucket does have a nice ring to it Laughing .

I spent 24 years in the Military learning to hate the USSR. When the Soviet Union fell apart I retired. My work was done. I no longer hate the Russians and have grown to appreciate their Military Arms. I have an AK-47 and hope to acquire a Draganov before that final dirt nap. Oh and just to set the record straight I do own the best of ours, AR-15, 1911 etc. Cool

When we first purchased the property we had a Beaver attempting to set up residency in the pond, which I really wouldn't have minded except that she was a destructive little critter. Although, she wasn't that little. I was floored how big she was when we pulled her out of the water almost 5 feet from nose to tail. Shocked Shocked After the extermination my son named the place Dead Beaver Ranch and made a sign he put up on the drive.

When I got married and Mrs. DBR moved in she granted a blanket pardon to all animals living on the Ranch. According to her, she just can't eat someting after looking into it's eyes and providing nutrients to it, so we now have a big petting zoo. The grandkids love to come visit. Mrs. DBR has never really liked the name since she prefers animals that are alive so she started referring to the place as DBR. Although, I think over time the name has grown on her. Anyway, seemed appropriate and no we didn't smoke the Beaver...... although after reading some of the posts about Beaver on the Smokering...... Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil
