One tatt and one piercing (so far Wink) that have nothing to do with my name Confused
When a lady I worked with talked us into doing a comp we had about a week to get ready, including a team name. The wife and I are both nurses so we wanted to use that, and a friend thought the naughty sounded good with it, so we are Naughty Nurses BBQ.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it Laughing
Had we known it would be more than a one time thing we MIGHT have put more thought into a name. Or maybe not Rolling Eyes

I have been "dsglfnpool" (disc golf and pool) on other boards for over a decade but did not think that dsglfnpoolnbbq would be any good (besides since we have been catering and vending there has been no disc golf or pool). So, anyway, I decided to use the name of our business "Virginia'Q" as my screen name and that name came about because we are definitely not North Carolina style 'Q.

My user name is related to a fictional character I've read from a book. She's a fairy, I'm not. I'm just fond of her beauty and power. I guess I'll just have her name. Smile

Bunkie is my wife's nickname for me. I ended up changing the spelling for forums, etc. (seems pretty original as I am using it on a number of sites) and it seems to have that Franco-Cajun thing going for it. Very Happy

GREAT TOPIC guys - loved reading them all!! Cool stuff to get to know about everyone -

Mine comes from the good ol days of IRC (back before AIM and YIM) - I used to work a midnight shift at an alarm company. It was pretty boring, the internet was just really coming around and becoming more popular. To keep awake I would bring a laptop in and connect tot he net and do IRC all night. For those not familiar with IRC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irc) - Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a form of real-time Internet text messaging (chat) or synchronous conferencing[1]. It is mainly designed for group communication in discussion forums, called channels[2], but also allows one-to-one communication via private message[3] as well as chat and data transfers via Direct Client-to-Client.

Anyway - I had never really chatted online like this so I picked a nickname for the chat room - I chose 'Vex' - shortned from the word vexed. I chose vexed since generally when younger I was impatient and got annoyed easily. So as time went by I eventually became a channel operator (someone who runs the channel - kind of a like a forum moderator) and people said 'Vex' didn't work - so they went to 'Vexter' - and it S-T-U-C-K. Been with me every since. As I would enter the chat rooms every night - I'd get a lot of "Hey Vexter!!!" and that sort of thing - I would always imagine it sounded like 'The vexteerrrrr' like a surfer dude saying it or something...makes me laugh.

For those of you who have seen us in action in person, you might have seen the Vexter1 badge on my camo apron - I always represent Smile LOL!

My Username - Smoke on the Horizon came from when I decided to cooks comps and needed a name. I had purchased a Horizon 24x72 smoker over the winter.

I was cooking in my driveway one day and sitting there in a lawn chair and watching the smoker the name just came to me.

I competed earlier this year under that name then teamed up with my buddy Mike (Smokedelics) and now compete under PigDawg but kept the username.

Well we all strive for TBS so Thin Blue it became. If and when I do any small catering it will be called Thin Blue BBQ.

I needed a name for my sauce - obviously Chipotle based, and i eat a lot of it myself, so Chipotle Muncher it became. And i don't mind munching the odd dried Chipotle as a test straight out of the smoker.

When i needed an email address, it also became Chipotle Muncher, and a few login id's have followed suit.

KAKid = Kool Aid Kid. Adopted it as CB handle and decor theme in 1976 when I got involved in custom/tricked out vans. At a club meeting someone nominated me for office by name (I'm another Mike) and 3/4 of the members asked "WHO?"
I'm envious of BigAl's avatar/picture thingy. Some day I'll figger out how to get my own up there, as well as a "newbie" title.
