Well, mine means that at 6'7" I'm a giant comic nerd. Lantern as in Green Lantern.......as in Hal Jordan.....as in nerd.
It's what I've used online since I was in high school and haven't been creative enough to use anything else since except my actual name. Well.....I did go by "nuttybeanbag" once. |

Hmm, ?
That name comes from an interesting little joke I played one day, I was at a bingo hall that had a lottery ticket raffle happening.
You buy a lottery ticket for $1.00, write your name on it and toss it in a drum. Later that day they pull out 1 ticket and announce the persons name that wins all the lottery tickets in the drum. I never expected to win the darn thing, but it was funny as hell when the bingo caller announced that name, not once, but 3 times before she realized what she had said.
I have also written my name as "Ed Gein" ( the guy from Wisconsin that "Silence of the lambs" "Psycho" "Motel Hell" and most other cannibal horror movies are based on.
I have also used "Jeffrey Dahmer" (the Queer that made Milwaukee famous) "Pete Moss", "Jack Hammer" & "Phil McCracken" as fictitious pseudo names to see if anyone ever catches it.
After the Bingo hall incident, everyone just started calling me Harry, it was a unique enough name that I now use it for web forums. I haven't gotten any credit card offers in that name yet though. But plenty of spam generated from it. _________________ Just remember that the toes you may step on during your climb to the top will also be attached to the a$$es you'll be forced to kiss on your way back down!

Well it's not as exciting as "Hey Beer Man", but that's what most folks that know me at events (and some personal friends) tend to holler out when they see me!
Alien BBQ (Michael) sent me the avatar last year, which is of course a funny play on Superman mainly because I'm pretty skinny for a BBQMAN at 5'11" and 150 pounds....................... _________________ BBQMAN

I've had the nickname of Nobody since I was in highschool. I always wanted to have my own cult following.... So.....
Actually it was the name of a website I ran for about 6 years. Didn't have anything to do with BBQ.... Mostly topics that go against the acceptable use policy around here.... Not that that bothers me one bit.... I like that I can come here and just talk about BBQ. _________________ I only believe in two basic food groups... Chili & BBQ

I've had the nickname, doc, since I was 10 yrs old. (I'm 36 now) I got it when we would play basketball and pretend to be NBA all-stars. I would always be Dr. J. Mine was the only one that stuck with them. And I'm a 49er fan so the 1680 is Montana and Rice. _________________ Love the voodoo that Q do.

I have been Big Mike for about 13 years now.
When I started dating my wife 13 years ago her daughter and son was 2 and 4 years old. The sons name is also Mike so the little girl started calling me Big Mike to distinguish between me and her brother. Then they both started calling me Big Mike.
Now, they are 15 and 18 years old and still call me Big Mike. When I get introduced to their friends, I am introduced as Big Mike and so all of their friends also call me Big Mike.
I guess I will be Big Mike forever. _________________ Mike

Maybe, maybe not Big Mike!
Like yourself, I met my wife and step-kids when they were pre-teens. Her Michael was always little Mike, and I was always Big Mike......................
Until Little Mike grew up to be Big Mike (he's 20 now, about 6'3" and 210)
So now he's Big Mike, and I'm Old Mike!
But I'm still Big Mike (at least from the waist down! )
Good luck Big Mike! _________________ BBQMAN

Mine's kinda like Lantern - I've used it since the mainframe days in the early 80's on & off again. The charachter is a mindless robot asassin in the movie 'Wizards', and stereotypes of us science nerds are lack of original personality. I used to be rail-thin and wiry in build as well.
My bosses only wish I was a mindless automaton my average boss expectancy is 2 years _________________ Let's hope SoEzzy can ditch his heavy hand on photos in 2016!

Mike Lawry is a fictional movie character from the movie Bad Boys. Played by Will Smith.
My real name is Jeff Day.
The reason I chose Mike Lawry as a name is, (Of course I saw the movie,)
A while after watching the movie my wife was watching a tv show on the spanish channel while I was on the computer, + I heard the name Mike Lawry. And I couldnt remember where I heard that name for a long time. Finally I remembered.
Mike LAAAAWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYY.
Thats my story.
Mike Lawry. |
