Happy birthday ohman!
The leather cap is nice, but it would get one without the built in mullet. _________________ OkieJay

My wife told me recently that I was splashing, as it were, and that I should sit down to relieve myself. I told her if she found me sitting down to pee then I was dead and she wouldn't have to worry about that anymore! |

The problem with drinking beer while you BBQ is that it fills you up and ruins the appetite. The proper drink for maintaining the BBQ is Bourbon. (Less calories and tastes great) Here is the ultimate BBQ drink. Take two chilled rocks glasses and fill heaping with small ice cubes. Pour into one glass (for the wife) a half shot of Bourbon and top off with water and sit her down in a soft chair with a footrest. Fill the other glass to the top with bourbon (Yours) and let stand undisturbed for 10 min. When the outside of your glass has a frozen ice crust on it slowly sip it under a shade tree and stare at the smoke from the smoker while jamming your favorite tunes on the box and play air guitar or use a small branch of Kindling as a fake microphone for singing along to the tunage. Your wife will laugh with delight and cheer you on. Refill your glasses whenever you add a log to the smoker. If your wife becomes a pest switch drinks with her and she will be asleep in 30 min. After three bourbons you should switch to beer for three logs and then begin the Bourbon regimen again. Don't forget to take pictures of the wife drinking Bourbon at noon for leverage in the future.
NOTE: You should use Bourbon near 100 Proof such as Knob Creek, Wild Turkey 101, Elijah Craig, or Evan Williams Single Barrel. Enjoy

Now that is funny...........Might just have to try that out on the wife.......then again, lol...that will mean I will have to watch the only the kids (and have a 9 month old who needs constant watching) rather than the smoke coming off the cooker.........hmmm.............I am thinking there has to be a compromise somewhere. _________________ Dinger

i must say after saturday's 17 hr smoke-a-thon, getting up at 5:30, i didn't crack my 1st beer till 1:00. But since i had some crown royal in my apple juice squirt bottle, i did have a few squirts. Now if I had a smoking buddy/bad influence, I'm sure i could start drinkin much earlier, but 17 hrs is a long haul to be drinking thewhole time! _________________ "WHEN IS IT GONNA B DONE?!?!?!?!"

Happy B-day Ohman! Glad to hear you are selling your food so well! I need one of those caps with the hair in front, the hair on the back half is all I got left! That cast iron dutch oven should serve you well- you can put the coals right on top with that type of lid! _________________ BBQMAN

Hey, some things really are better than BBQ! :D |
