For all you Geico customers, here is a few things you should know before writing them that next premium check.

They saved Kustom Radar technologies from bankruptcy and going out of business by buying into the company, Kustom radar makes police radar & laser units to ticket speeders. (Both deserving & underservng)
If you own a radar detector Geico can refuse to pay your claim! they have it hidden in the fine print. so if you are at fault in an accident, and the adjuster finds a radar detector in your vehicle, you are no longer covered by that policy you have been faithfully paying for all those years.

One other thing, they supply many police departments free speed detection equipment and use that as a charitable write-off, this is with the great hopes that one of their insured gets ticketed for speeding with this free equipment and they can raise that persons rates.

The most notable event with Geico, & Kustom Radar, is the development of the LTI 20/20 laser speed detection gun. it is terribly flawed and shows erroneous speed readings and many people have been unfairly ticketed becuase of it. the aiming system is usually way off and the vehicle in the spotting scope usually isn't the one causing the speed reading. and if they are handheld, and movement of the gun by the operator will cause inflated speed readings.
