I heard that Al Borges resigned from Auburn, though not confirmed yet. Possible candidate for there? Has a Nutt connection from previous jobs. Anybody heard anything like this down there?

Heres a little take on the situation.

There right on when they say this.

"I say this firmly, but without condemnation: You are not Florida, not LSU, not Tennessee, not Alabama, not Georgia, not Auburn. Arkansas is about the seventh-best program in a murderous league. "

Congrats Mike -- I gotta questions a man who quites on his team in the middle of the season though. Rolling Eyes The college game is so different, Arkansas was probably pressuring him to sign now to start the recruiting process.

Best of Luck!

Let's just say that Arkansas can have Petrino and no one in Atlanta is losing any sleep over the loss...the guy lost control of the team and was never able to get it back...he might be a good fit for Arkansas, but he sure doesnt put down roots anywhere...

When will college coaches ever learn that they cannot just do the same old things they did in college and make it in the pros? Petrino tried to talk down to grown men (ego-addled multimillionaires at that) and was shocked when he found that they responded differently than 19 year old kids. He would bench players and demote starters without notifying them first, forcing them to learn their fate in the press...low class! He was just the wrong man for the job.

That being said, he did a fine job at Lousiville; maybe he'll have as much luck as Saban in returning to the college ranks. I say good riddance!

My 2 cents on the subject of Petrino.

1. Ya , Petrino will be taking a bath in dirty water for a while now.

2. Next week the dirty water will be all old news + no news.

3. He is inhereting a very weak depleted team. Rebuilding years coming for him.

4. How long will he stay at Arkansas.?

5. Last but not least. The Razorbacks are the whole show in AR. There is no number 2. Maybe thats what he is looking for.

What's going to happen if Petrino wins the SEC west and has to travel back to the Georgia Dome for the SEC Championship Game???????

THAT MIGHT BE AS GOOD AS SEEING FRANCIONE HAVING TO PLAY IN TUSCALOOSA.......if he even gets another coaching job that is. Laughing

We wont have to worry about what the reaction will be because Hell will have frozen over and everyone will be talking about that...Arkansas would be lucky to make a bowl next season. You dont replace 15 starters and switch from run based offense to a pass happy one in one off season with no recruits. And Petrino aint getting anyone outside of arkansas right now. If Arkansas can get to and win a bowl next season it would be a great season for them.
