My motor for the outside fan went out (bad bearing) so I replaced it with the exact motor called for. Only one problem, the unit is not working. I put all the wires back where they came from but there appears to be no hold in voltage for the contactor. You can push the contactor closed and everything works, let it go and everything stops. Does anyone have access to York wiring diagrams? _________________ https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeloberry |

I've found good info on most eveything aplliance related here. It sounds like the wiring to the low voltage side of the contactor is either crossed up or bad somehwere along the line as well as the motor problem? Makes me wonder if the motor was bad why the other problem as well?
I have not seen HVAC here in quite a while, but you may want to try to round him up as well.
Good luck with your project! _________________ BBQMAN

I would check the capacitor. That is the only thing left in line with the fan.
Is the whole unit not working or just the fan motor? When you press the contactor in, does the compressor come on? If so I would say it is the capacitor. Most of the times you either have to ask for the capacitor or order it sepreatly!
Give it a try the compressor should come on immediatly.

Put a new capacitor on it with the motor. Nothing works until you push the contactor closed manually. Then everything works but stops just as soon as you release the contactor. _________________ https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeloberry |

Check the 24v side of the contactor, see if you are
A) Getting a reading from the thermostat to turn it on
B) If you are Live on that side
Could be the thermostat or the contactor, Kinda hard to diagnoss over the internet, with out actually being there, Sorry _________________ The only thing consistant in BBQ is, it is always the Judges fault!
