3 - 4" of white fluffy snow with leaden skies and it's still falling, as I type here this morning with more snow storms on the way!

The kids are out enjoying sledding and snowball fights, I'm off to work for a few hours

Here's it's 70's F and partly cloudy today, supposed to hit 83 F tomorrow. I'm trying my hand at cooking a 9 lb pork butt and a 4 lb chuck roast today - something to enjoy Cool before going to the company Christmas party tonight (those things are never my cup of tea - we'll leave after finishing dinner).

Up to 8" - 1' already, not much wind so it isn't drifting yet, though they do say the wind is going to pick up this evening so we may have some real fine drifts by morning. Very Happy

The boys cleared the sidewalks etc, first thing this morning, and had to do it again at noon, we have snow nazi's around here that inspect everyone else's sidewalks & drives, and failure to clear them can get you cited with a $75.00 fine, and if you don't clear it by the 3rd citation they will clear it and bill you $250.00 for the privilege.

Don’t ask me how I know, it will only bring back painful memories! Embarassed

We got 6 inches last night which made it fun driving home from work in white out conditions..

Why is it when you are driving in a white out some horses you know what decides to tailgate.

because they are like lemmings! let someone else lead no matter where it leads to.
they figure of you are staying on the road, they'll just follow you instead of trying to find the edge of the road by themselves.

Well, we are cold and partly cloudy on the Sierras. We might get a flury or two tonight but it's not like you fellas are gettin up north and the mid-west. You guys take it easy up there. What we have going on out west is headed right for ya on tuesday and wednesday. It's got some snow with it but also real cold winds.
Hope everybody is doing alright and ready for the next wave of weather.
I chopped a bunch more oak today and stacked it. Then battened down the hatches and got a fire going. Just sitting here hoping for some snow.

Ugh! Sad I hope your power stays on!

We almost spent Christmas in the Cincinnati airport in 2004 due to an ice storm like the one you're describing - we heard trees cracking and woke up Christmas Eve to find the top of our big pine tree in Ohio had sheared from the stress. We got to Cincy and there were people there who had been in that airport for days - and all the rental cars were long gone. I made Delta put us on the last flight to anywhere in Texas, they got us to Austin around 2 AM and we drove to my wife's parents' in Houston just in time to see dawn breaking on the last of the snow they had that year.

Anyone who didn't make it out of Cincy on Christmas Eve like we did spent Christmas day there when the computers puked on how to sort out the backlog - crashed - no flights were allowed in or out that day.

I don't miss that stuff at all.

Not too much snow here but the streets are one big skating rink. That's not going to stop me from cooking some ribs tomorrow though. I'm calling it "Winter can go **** itself" day, a new holiday.

BBQman, you sure know how to pi$$ us northerners off don't you. Laughing Crying or Very sad We got another "Colorado low" weather system coming our way and it doesn't look good. I wish Colorado would keep their lousy weather. Some things are better not shared. Weather is one of them.
