Yupp, it's a sad day for Evel fans everywhere!

He had a condo not too far down the road from where I live. Used to see his old enclosed bike trailer up where I worked parked in storage for years.

Colorful character, to say the least! I'd say he had a pretty good, long life, considering...........................

I miss my rev up motorcycle I had of him when I was a kid. Nothing like turning the wheel faster than your buddy and then releasing the bike from the launcher to see who can go faster and jump higher. You were also extra special if you had Knieval in a blue outfit.

And remember what his choice of bikes was? Not the full-on dirt bikes his kid Robbie and other professional jumpers use.

Evel did all his jumps on a Harley! compared to the motocross bikes of today, that had to be like trying to fly a school bus.

I bet hose those old sportsters weighed near 800 pounds.

Still one of my favorite toys of all time!

He was one of a kind for sure. They broke the mold when he was born.

If you would have asked me back in the 70's if Evil was going to die at age 69 I would have said, " you have got to be kidding, that guy is going to kill himself next week!" He may be gone but will never be forgotten.
Thanks
Mike
