We have a place in Hopkinsville, KY operated by a couple that was displaced by Katrina. It's called The Po' Boy.
They have the very best shrimp, oyster, roast beef, chicken, catfish, cajun burger, porkchop po boys I have ever eaten. Man are they good!!!
I would have to say that my personal favorite is the shrimp Fresh bread, mayo, hot sauce and oh yeah about 40 deep fried shrimp.

Fried shrimp po-boy is my favorite, but with cocktail sauce instead of remoulade, with pepper sauce added to taste.
Fried crawfish tail po-boy would be my second choice, same condiments. _________________ Let's hope SoEzzy can ditch his heavy hand on photos in 2016!

My favorite Po Boy is a fried catfish Po Boy -- but with the little pieces of fried catfish, not a whole filet. At the Riverwalk in New Orleans, they have a food court that has the best catfish Po Boy. I've had some from other places, but the whole filet just doesn't give the sammich the same flavor. _________________ Steve

| Mid 80's -my first time in the Big Easy , tight on $ & saw a push cart on Canal st.-said "fried oyster po-boy & beer $2.00" He had a pan of oyster liquor filled with carmelized onions & would spread liquor on the bread, toast breifly then load with oysters & onions..Maybe just the time & hungry but have never tasted its equal.. |

I like the shrimp and I like the catfish po-boy. Fully dressed with lettuce, mayo, and tomatoes. And a bottle of Tabasco on the side.
But I would say that my favorite po-boy would be the hot link. That of course would be Louisiana smoked pork sausage, spicy hot, cut lengthwise and grilled and then placed on some original Leidenheimers or Gambino's french bread, Panini-pressed. And of course, fully dressed.
And to wash it all down, I will usually opt for the Barq's rootbeer.
Good stuff! |
