Note my avatar, I's a KSU fan, alas they pretty much went down the toilet this year for some reason. As for the game tonight, I've got to say, it's gonna be a close game, probably one TD or less between them.
Who's the winner going to play for the Big 12 title? They should just give the winner of this game the title I'd say. _________________ Treager Texas pit

I was at that game in Norman and I can tell you that Missouri is a vastly improved team.
Temple was hurt, MU had no rushing game... if you'll remember we were winning in the second have until a bad handoff was fumbled away for an OU touchdown.
The results in San Antonio will be different. See you there? _________________ Traeger Lil Tex

Buckeyes vs WVU in the National Championship game!

You're right about the SEC guys, and unfortunately the best team in the SEC is not playing for the championship. Georgia may have stumbled in the beginning, but after watching them this past month, I'd say they're the hottest team from the SEC.
This has just been a crazy year!

Not so fast there.
This year has been a perfect example of "It's not over til it's over".

Arkansas knocks off #1 LSU in overtime 50-48
MUAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAAAA.
That should just be enough for #5 Darren Mcfadden to win the Heisman trophy.
Arkansas might go to the Cotton bowl at best now, If LSU loozes the SEC championship vs Tenn. (I dont see that happening though).
Was such a good year kinda for Arkansas fans just watching Darren Mcfadden. He is clearly the best football player in the game today(Im biased though) And for sure the best football player in Arkansas football history.
(Damn, that dude went to high school just down the road from me.)

Well here comes one of the SEC guys. I hope that Ohio State backs into the national championship game this year. I also hope that Georgia makes it, though I highly doubt it. And before anybody gets real excited about winning the "National Championship", it is already being discussed that the best teams in the nation WON'T be playing in the big game this year. I read something this morning from one of the sports betting places (folks that pay their bills by knowing what is going on) are calling USC the best team in the nation at the moment.
I want Georgia in the big game for 2 reasons.
1.) They are an SEC team and are riding a high point in their season.
2.) This would show that the BCS is a joke and that college football needs a playoff system when the previous weeks No. 3 and No. 4 teams are playing for the National Championship.
If Ohio State makes it to the big game, that should show that the BCS is still not right. Me and Bang Bang have discussed in previous post that OSU is rebuilding this year and are not that strong. Not cracking on you Bang Bang.
I don't know what to say about LSU losing to Arkansas, at this poing all I can do is cry.
The one good thing for me this year is Mississippi State went 7-5 in regular season and we get to go to a bowl game. the first since 2000. Yyyiiiiiipppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

That was actually very well stated. OSU is (was suppose to be) in a rebuilding year, but for what ever reason other teams just couldn't seem to win when it counted. This was such a weird year, most of the teams lost to teams that were ranked much lower, or not even ranked at all (LSU, Michigan, Oregon...). I can only imagine the buzz if college football had a playoff system. The entire country would have a shot at #1...even Hawaii! At the beginning of the year, no one would have beleived that KU and Mizz would be playing a game in the second to last week of the year with national championship implications.
Actually WVU scares me a little against my Buckeyes.....we haven't done so hot against spread offenses in National Championship games recently. I live about 1/2 hr. from the WV line, and in this neck of the woods you get a lot of fans that root for both teams (i'm one of them) a few years ago I went to the Backyard Brawl to see WVU vs. Pitt. Needless to say it was a mad house. That game have never been bigger than it is this week. That place is going to be rocking on Saturday......Man I love college football. _________________ When all is said and done, more will be said than done! |

First off...
USC v UGA in the Rose Bowl would be the biggest game of the year. Hope to see it. a WVU v tOSU title game would be meaningless to everyone outside of Columbus and Morgantown.
Secondly, Mizzou v KU was like watching 2 girls pillow fight. Lots of hype, kinda sexy, but in the end there was no payoff and both of those teams would be 2-4 loss teams in the SEC.
Third..Big OU and Pitt fan this weekend. |

Georgia is playing as good as anyone in the Nation right now, no question... but the last time I checked the National Championship wasn't reserved for the team that was hot at the end of the season. _________________ Traeger Lil Tex

And the National Championship isn't for the team that back in with a good record from playing mediocre teams. The only quality team that Mizzou played was Oklahoma and they lost that game.
I figure that the big game will be played between Ohio State and West Virginia. If the current number 1 & 2 teams played now, who would really care? |

No one...Like I said, Mizzou is a 2-4 loss team in the SEC. Playing in the Big 12 north might as well be playing in the WAC. None of those teams are playing great football and havent in several years.
The game that everyone would be excited about this season is the UGA v USC Rose Bowl, that game would be crazy big... |

I would watch USC vs. UGA (i would watch anything though...). That would be a great game, and both are hot right now. However, I would love to see an UGA vs. OSU championship game too. I agree, Mizz would probably not have that record in the SEC or even Big 10 (and I think the SEC is riding higher than the BIG 10 right now ). That being said, everyone knows that to win a national championship you need to be very good and more than a little lucky...this year my Bucks were in the right place at the right time to make things happen....even if Mizz and WVU go on an win on Saturday, its still been a good year for the Buckeyes.

LOL.....that's kinda funny.
One of the mediocre teams Mizzou beat this year was Illinois. Maybe you forgot how Ohio State did against them? The Buckeyes loaded their non-conference schedule with perennial powerhouses like Akron, Kent State and Youngstown State....talk about a 3-pack of cupcakes.
The only thing the BCS system has brought about since it removed strength of schedule as a component of the rankings is encouraging some teams to load their non-conference schedule with a bunch of Marys in order to protect their record.
I also feel like a team shouldn't even be considered for one of the BCS bowls unless their conference has a year end conference championship. Why penalize schoools from the bigger conferences that have to play an extra game against a division winner? I guess if your team is from a conference loaded w/ patsies the point is moot anyway.
