Just curious if many of you buy meat from Restaurant Depot?
I browsed thru their store today and was pretty impressed with the meat selection. They had packers and trim cuts of brisket at pretty decent prices
about the same as Sams Club.
They also have a large spice selection
In order to buy from them you need a business license or proof you aid in non profit org.
Thanks to Big Mike for the suggestion. |

What state (or states) is this place located in? it sounds interesting, is everything in institutional sized packaging like the Whorehouse club stores? _________________ Just remember that the toes you may step on during your climb to the top will also be attached to the a$$es you'll be forced to kiss on your way back down! |

I've been getting butts, briskets, ribs, beans (#10 cans), spices, beef/chicken base, and a bunch of other stuff there. I also buy the bags of shredded slaw there. Occasionally they'll be out of bone-in butts and I'll check BJ's Wholesale, but I can always get Choice or CAB packers, chuck rolls, tri-tips, 1/3lb burgers etc there at good prices.
Matter of fact, I'm going there in the AM to grab a packer and a 20lb bag of Royal Oak, then I'm gonna come home and quick-cook the packer for dinner. _________________ --

| I use them for all my meats now too. I've been getting butts at under $1.20/lb, briskets under $1.80/lb and spares for under $1.50/lb. And that loose pricing. Case pricing is even lower. I also get my catering supplies there. The last party I did, I picked up a three rack chafing kit for $20 and billed it back to the client for $30. |

| Oh I forgot to mention that I got cushion meat for under $1.50/lb to try. I think I read in a previous post that Harry used it for one of his cooks. There was also another post on hanger steaks. Well I got those there for under $2.25/lb. |

What cut is "cushion meat"?
I didn't learn that one in culinary school. |
