Hello,

Like a few I've also been a lurker and decided I better stop being shy and introduce myself.

I'm a North Dakota transplant living in Columbus,Ohio and wound up married to a Texas girl. Some how I got hooked on BBQ visiting Texas a few times. So my wife informed after six months of marriage that I had better learn to make her good BBQ or she was leaving me. “If she would only say that now after 10 years of marriage” Rolling Eyes

Recently we moved into a new house "one of those that comes with a snooty housing association”. With my new found hobby over the years trying to keep my married to my wife, I’ve acquired quite a collection of wood, smokers, grills, chairs and of course my mobile beer cooler mounted with a 26” flat screen TV. Very Happy

Some how people in snooty housing associations don’t understand in order to make BBQ and to save my marriage, it requires smoke. DUH! Dahm yuppies.

Funny some of the husbands come over to hang out to see what’s going on while I smoke their nagging ole ladies out of the house to go shopping. Even more funny I’ve been teaching them it’s ok to pee outside. Cool

To this date, I’ve been turned into the housing association twice…for smelling up yuppie peoples houses. Had the fire department show up 3 times thinking my house was on fire, lol they always seem to show up around supper time. Those sneaky sampling basement savers!

Well enough about my snooty anti BBQ rants.

Glad to be here and looking for to learning lots, as I my future goal is to compete.

Welcome to the Ring!!!

I live in Columbus also. I went through the same thing. Ended up selling off my large smoker and getting a smaller unit. I had two suspects move out last winter and the complaints seems to have stopped.

I found that by providing smoked snacks at the meetings helped a lot. I also have provided a full lunch, on several occasions, to the sales staff and the maintenance staff. It also helped.

Take care,

Brian

Great introduction!

I need to see some pics of your mobile beer cooler mounted with a 26” flat screen TV Smile I have one on an articulated arm I swing outside; the neighbors think it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread! I live at the shore and love to watch “Shark Week” outside in the summer…you should see the looks on some of the tourists faces…I don’t think they swim much after walking by the house and seeing a giant Great White breaching out of the water and grabbing a seal like it’s some kind of Slim-Jim. Shocked Razz Shocked

My downstairs bathroom broke Monday night and I didn’t have the right parts to fix it last night and ended up peeing outside…I think I hit all 4 corners of the house…my girlfriend didn’t like it very much just on account she had to run upstairs every time she had to go!!!

Welcome to the ring! Fun place to hang out!

That was one helluva intro. Seems like we should know each other but if not, maybe we will some day. I'm just west of you near Dayton and I can tell you live in a ritzy neighborhood if your neighbors are taken back by peeing outside. PM me if you ever get over towards Dayton and have time for a cold one.

Ain't nothing uptown about it Mike. I just got a bigger backyard to pee in and a deck to pee off of when the ground is wet.

I almost forgot to tell you but we have a comp in Dayton on Jul 18 & 19 next year. This will be the second year for the comp and it will be sanctioned. We'll keep you posted so you can plan on coming over and getting your feet wet.
