Thanks for the info although it does raise a couple other quesitons.

You stated in your reply that your research included, firebox/tank/vertical proporations. Where did you find that information? Or, better put, can you share that information?

The answer to the question above, in short, is my ultimate question which is possibly better put as:

How in the world do you figure out how big the chamber, (or chambers, if you decide to go with a vertical and a horizontal), is supposed to be as compared to the firebox and how do you determine the optimum size of exhaust?

There are many valuable posts on this forum that define optimum ratios, but I've yet to find how these determined values are derived, particularly the ratios of firebox to chamber(s).

In reference to your tuning plate process, I guess my quesiton is:

What is the process? (i.e.- trial and error, S.W.A.G., scientific data or other)

Thanks again for the feedback, any further help would be greatly appreciated.
