See http://www.kodakgallery.com/I.jsp?c=iyt9005.2ghrswad&x=0&y=z4mvla for the conception and birth of the She-Beast, Robert's Stumper clone (and first-ever welding project) with a 2x3x4 cooking chamber and 30 sq' ft of cooking space. 9 hours of good cooking time on a single 10-lb bag of Ozark Oak and 19 hours on one 20-lb bag of Ranch Original ain't too shabby, and she cooks VERY good ribs... WITHOUT foil! She's got her bling, but not her garnet-red paint yet.

Keri, that She-Beast is looking great (love the chrome stack ). Your bling door cover is in much better shape than mine. But that's what I get for using a very "used" piece of material . Okay, I have a new gadget that Robert will be wanting -- I added a Stoker to my toys. I tried it for the first time yesterday and it was amazing. It used to take about 2 hours to preheat and get the pit stable to 225 degrees. But with the Stoker, I was able to preheat and get it stable at 300 degrees in 45 minutes! I set it back to 275 and it held within 1 degree above or below that temp for the entire cook. I was very impressed! _________________ Steve

I was a tester for the first BBQ-Gurus way back when. I still have that original model, though I don't use it on the WSMs since they do so well by themselves... and the "beeping" noise scared my schnauzer (may she rest in peace). I pulled it out for Robert to take a look at and see if it would be of any use on a unit as big as the She-Beast. He was quite intrigued with your report on the Canadian board, though, so I'm thinking he might need a stoker for my birthday the end of this month.
As long as we don't become dependant on it. I still have this thing about being dependant on electricity to cook, whether at competitions or out at the lake on primitive campsites...

Keri, you can get the "12 Volt Power Adapter" for the Stoker. It looks like it comes with a cigarette adapter and clips to use directly with a battery. If you guys place an order, I may tag on and add that 12 volt adapter (don't know why I didn't order it with my Stoker -- guess I can only get so much past Kim before she puts her foot down). _________________ Steve
