It's with a heavy heart that I found out yesterday evening Chris has passed away. Hopefully he is providing clouds of smoke above, and entertaining those that passed before him with his dry wit and stories. I met Chris on travels out west about 10 years ago in SLC. Spent a long weekend with him and his family, talked a lot of BBQ, saw some beautiful sights and enjoyed his hospitality. I'll never forget the sight of him pedaling home on a 10 speed bike to get something he had forgotten, he dwarfed that bicycle for sure! Chris also helped me with transitioning my website years ago. FaceBook has largely replaced forums like this one, but we stayed in touch over the years. Godspeed my friend, send us a smoke signal. _________________ BBQMAN

So well written as always Brother! Without Chris as Moderator and eventually Administrator of this once Great Barbecue Site, It would have sunk sooner than it did if it weren't for Chis's sense of intuity, insight and fairness to all members past and present.
Without further rhetoric, Thank You Mike for this post and Thank You So-Ezzy for making the Smoke Ring for what it once was.
Prayers of Peace and Well Being to Chris and Family...Amen.

He did a lot for this site, and what used to be a great community around this site.
May he rest in peace. |
