As suggested in the Miller forum, finding a 220 outlet would be easiest on your wallet. Even if the outlet is buried inside the townhouse, it is easy to size and make an extension cord to get the power out to your welder. If you don't have a 220 outlet, you might consider creating a temporary 220 drop out of the box that you could instal and remove as required. Using a separate generator to power your current welder will almost certainly cause more problems with the non-trade friendly neighbors dweling in your townhouse complex than you care to address. (Noise, exhaust, etc). However, if you decide a ygenerator is the way you want to go, why not consider simply finding a good used engine driven welder? If you are patient, good deals on popular brands occasionally pop up on Craigslist and eBay.
