I am looking at building a charcoal Grill for a new outdoor kitchen of mine. It is to be 48"L x 24"D x 24"H with 2-23"x23" cooking grates and 2 racks 10"x48". The charcoal area is going to be the same as the cooking grates and will have a removable middle plate for possible smoking. The bottom is going to funnel down to a 10"x10" opening for the ashes to drop into a stainless bucket.
Here is the question: I was going to put 2-4"x4"x12" exhaust vents, one on each end. Is this enough venting? Also has anyone built something like this for an outdoor kitchen?
I would love to see what you did.
Thanks

It will have the standard door/hood. I am wondering if it will draw enough with the vents I am look at using. This thing is going to be heavy and I would not like to do any cutting or welding once it is in place. |
