I am opening a new restaurant in New Orleans and I am looking for a wholesale wood distributor. Does anyone have any people or leads? I am looking into contacting tree companies but I need to get an order in for opening because this route is looking like it will take a little too long.

Thanks
Ray

Ray, check your local area for any saw mills or hardwood flooring manufactures. If you can find a saw mill or manufacture that works with any hardwoods then you can probably get their culls for little or no cost. You would want to make sure that you only get wood or lumber that hasn't been processed or exposed to any chemicals. I use a local mill to get my hickory and I only use wood that has been culled out before being dried. I hope this helps.

Check the phone book for firewood sales. Also check Craigs List.

Are there any loggers in operation by you?

I purchase directly from loggers by the semi load, 12-14 full cords per truck

Thanks for the advice. I purchased 5 cords from a guy off craigslist and am going to look for a place to buy by the semi. I just hope the savings is worth finding a way to store 14 cords.

Thanks
Ray
