I went to get a new cell phone last Thursday, a Samsung note 7. It had to be ordered .

Friday they issued a total recall. Batteries exploding.

Im glad it had to be ordered instead of having to send it back, I guess.

Thought I read somewhere that they have fixed the issue
but it reduces battery life by 40% Shocked

No, I believe it slows charging to 40-60% of the previous maximum. Cell phones have been pushing faster and faster charging algorithms since phones chew through battery life faster and faster with all the apps people load onto their phone without thinking.

Lithium batteries are amazing as long as you treat/charge them right. Do it wrong and they become extremely dangerous. Add the questionable quality control that comes along with manufacturing in China and this was bound to happen...
