Hello all smokers. My question is, does the size of the firebox matter being heated by a 100,000 btu burner?
250 gallon Reverse Flow.

Are you putting a gas burner assist in a stick burner. that is a lot of safety red flags popping up in my mind. _________________ New Braunfels Offset

In my opinion heat and draw are one in the same whether it is gas or wood fire. But I just build wood fired offset cookers so I could be wrong. I hope you plan on having some safety shut offs in place for that burner so you are not creating a bomb if the fire snuffs out. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

I have been lurking this forum for some time and I am definatley taking safety precautions with thermocouples, remote thermometers, shut offs etc... I added a picture so you can see the firebox.

I like the look. But 100'000 but will be like having a propane salamander blowing into your pit?? Wish I knew more about gas.
With the turn down "chimney" looks like you could almost back the pit over a campfire and be cooking, LOL.
Looking forward to seeing this project through. Please keep posting, I love learning through others projects.

I skipped alot of picture steps being my first time touching a welder. Learned alot. It hits 430° in 15 minutes. Temperature difference is only five degrees top to bottom with a hot spot on baffle plate above burn box. Two top shelves and guides are removable for whole hog. Smoke time with five hickory splits total @ 6 hours. Anyhoots. ..here are a few pics with end results. Her name is Petunia.
