Sliced a few potatoes and made some Tatonka Dust seasoned potato chips with a Pampered Chef Microwave Potato Chip Maker.
-----
Then took some walleye fillets and lightly tossed them in corn starch and then dipped them in a Buffalo Wing beer batter.
Walleye fillet on a meat hook being dipped in the beer batter.
-----
Frying up in oil in a cast iron pan on the grill.
-----
First batch hot off the grill...
-----
Fish 'n chips served with a tartar dipping sauce and a cold one.
-----
The walleye and potato chips were excellent!
Thanks for looking! |

That looks good Mossymo. That fish looks like it is cooked perfectly and nice and flaky. Good job. _________________ Chargriller

That looks excellent! The fish looks perfectly cooked. Very nice job! Gotta love that beer batter. I do Fish n Chips about once a month (my wife loves FnC), using a fish called 'Swai'. It's about a quarter of the cost of Cod (the traditional fish used), and has a similar taste and texture. You ever spritz any Malt Vinegar on it? It's a traditional accompaniment and adds another dimension of flavor. _________________ The Matt Ryan of LIARS! (#2)

Good Malt Vinegar seems hard to get hold of locally, I went out to an Applebee's for lunch recently, and they have sachet's of great flavored malt vinegar.
What brand are you using BUGSnBBQ? _________________ Here's a change Robert.

As a first generation Englishman I have to say my fav is Parson's (edit: meant to say Sarson's - my bad) ... made with real Ale (not just colouring and flavouring like Heinz) it is like the difference between a box of hobo wine and a good chianti!

Couldn't agree more about the Heinze malt vinegar.
We use Sarson's or Cromwell (Australia), for us Sarson's is our fave. Never heard of Parsons, although I've had their malt pickled onions. _________________ Rod |

Yes, lol, that's what you get for posting right when you wake up for a night shift, mind was fried! Sarson's is correct, thanks for clearing that! Side note: probably hard to find locally, I have a great British Wholesale Grocer that opened close to me in Mississauga and they carry it. A quick google search showed it available on amazon.com for $9.62 with free shipping.
BTW that fish looks amazing, gonna have to take your lead and make some myself ... better pull out the rod for an early morning fish tomorrow! Great job! |

I looked up Parsons, and they make pickles in Wales, UK using Malt Vinegar, so there may have been some cross polination between Sarsons and Parsons!
Now looking locally for Sarsons! _________________ Here's a change Robert.

You may be able to get malt vinegar from a nano-brewery in your area. I get mine from Element Brewing in Miller's Falls MA. I don't know if they will ship..

A little late, but I also use Sarson's. There's a great English market a couple of towns over and they highly recommended Sarson's. Actually they said it's the ONLY brand that any respectable Englishman (or woman) would use _________________ The Matt Ryan of LIARS! (#2)
