|
|
Went to the McKinney 4th of July parade this morning to watch Londyn, our grand daughter perform. She is "Woody"
in the yellow shirt.
So we then invited the family over for some burgers and dog. Put the BGE popup over the front of the patio for
a little shade from the Texas sun until the pavilion gets built.
Picked up some Wagu 80/20 and Angus hot dogs from Local Yocal in downtown McKinney this morning, (We were just
across from them watching the parade)
Ladies are working on all of the fixn's while the griddle is warming up.
Loaded up the griddle with the patties and dogs.
When those were about done toasted the buns.
Steamed the cheese on the burgers.
Set at the spread and rang the dinner bell.
Now time for a swim and adult beverages

Thanks nksdad2007. The burgers were some of the best I have ever had. We will do this again. _________________ "You’re not a real Texan till you’ve been kicked out of every decent state in America." - Joe Bob Briggs

Man, that looks sweet. I've been talking about getting a little gas grill for the convenience when we only have a little bit of time between activities, but I want to cook outside. After reading your last thread and this one I think I might be leaning towards a flat top. In my college years I paid rent by cooking at a sports bar in Milwaukee. So, I have spent a good deal of time tending to a flat top grill, and I could see how having one out back would be very handy. _________________ UDS

It is handy. This is new to me. I may ask you for advice and other items to cook if you don't mind. Once you get past cooking breakfast and burgers, I would like to do much more on it. _________________ "You’re not a real Texan till you’ve been kicked out of every decent state in America." - Joe Bob Briggs

I'll help with what i can. The first thing I'd cook on one of those things would be some Philly cheese steaks. It's hard to find a good cheese steak around here, and you can't properly cook one without a flat top grill in my opinion. _________________ UDS

Yep I agree. That is next after a great hot ham and cheese on rye. It is one of my fav's. I will post pics the cook.
What I need to work on is hash browns. Can't quite get them tight like at IHOP. Don't know if it is time, temp or technic. _________________ "You’re not a real Texan till you’ve been kicked out of every decent state in America." - Joe Bob Briggs
