Pulled out the blackstone this morning, fired up and cleaned the top. Started giving the top another round of seasoning. On the third coat of oil, the oil started beading up as I spread it around. Is that a sign that it finally getting a good season on it?

I usually go by the color of the griddle top when it comes to seasoning. The griddle top starts taking a dark brown color that turns to dark black eventually like cast iron Dutch oven.
In this picture, you can the darker spots where the griddle top started to take on the seasoning. Of course, you’d want the entire griddle to take on that color or coating not just the center.

I hope this helps.

After the griddle had cooled down, I felt the top and one side felt a little gummy. Started it back up and left it on high for 30-45 minutes or so while a friend stopped bye. Checked it again after it cooled and no more gummy, just smooth as can be.
