Made kabobs for the New Year’s party. Kabobs are the perfect finger food for this occasion Smile
Started with Flat Iron steaks

They have a prefect shape and thickness for kabobs. Made two cut the long way

then few across, which yielded perfect cubes uniformed in size

Also started on the veggies

I place a metal plate in the center of two Weber Kettles and arrange the skewers in a circular fashion following the contour of the Kettle. So the skewers were not touching the grate (grateless). And arranging the skewers in this fashion allow for maximum amount of skewers on the kettle.

Started each kettle with one chimney full of coals

In addition to the steaks, I had chicken, shrimp, smokies, and meatballs

Glazed the meatballs with Pomegranate molasses sauce

And the cooking is done

Also made Hummus and Baba ganoush

And couscous salad

And Mezza (appetizers) Smile

The Holidays came and gone too quick, but I sure had a lot of fun cooking Very Happy

thank you for posting this, I make kabobs all the time and it never crossed my mind to do the plate in the middle. Maybe everyone knows this, but I didn't.

Looks great!

I gotta agree with the others - That's an awesome looking spread! Great job! Putting something in the middle of the kettle to support the skewer end is a great idea. I got some of those flat skewers you showed me earlier last year, but haven't used them yet Embarassed , but I will soon.

Thanks T00lman, come on over Very Happy

Thanks Canadian Bacon Very Happy

Thanks Beertooth Very Happy

Thanks Jar Very Happy

Thanks Troy, if you lived closer, I would’ve invited you to the party Very Happy

Thanks stetch Very Happy
I came up with the plate idea a while back and I’ve never seen it used anywhere else. It just made census to me to take advantage of the roundness of the kettle.

Thanks BUGSnBBQ Very Happy
Those skewers are probably too big for the kettle, but I have many other use for them. And yes, you owe us some pix for your first cook with those skewers Very Happy

BigOrson, agree with you on the The Raichlen skewers.
