|
|
Kevin hit me up quite a while back about building a stand for millstream. Told him Id be happy to as long as Scott wasn't in a huge rush. Was an extremely busy spring and early summer with trailer builds, so I didn't have a ton of free time.
I had 5 discos and burners sold for people to give as Fathers Day gifts, so I went ahead and got the stand cut and built knowing Scotts build was coming as well.
Kevin had the pieces water jetted since he had the pieces done for the disco and everything was already programmed. When I got the package, this was inside another envelope, which was stuffed inside of another envelope. Kevin had it packed well.
The pieces laid out. The detail work in this is awesome and delicate, so had to be pretty cautious when working on it.
Got the pieces all tacked and squared and then welded and sanded.
The tabs the inner ring will set on and the 1" square tube on the bottom where it will attach to the stand.
Leveled and tacked onto the stand.
Welded in place.
Forming the outer ring.
Im not real sure what happen to the next 2 or 3 pictures in the process, Im kinda thinking my 7 year old helper might have got delete crazy with my photos
This is a finished picture of the topside though, the outer ring is rolled and welded, then attached to the inner ring with 2x2 scrap iron.
Sitting outside for a fresh coat of high heat paint and some cure time.
Done and ready to be packaged up.
Boxing it up for shipping.
I always get crazy looks from the Fed Ex lady when I walk in the door with one of these packages
It was a cool build, thanks Kevin for being scared to work with tubing and letting me do this one for you
Scott, hope you enjoy it man, and make sure to post some pics _________________ X2 Finished Build

Awesome work as always my Friend.
When Scott asked me about a burner stand I gave him options. I showed him several and included Troy's design.
After looking at options Scott said I want Troy's but can we add the logo? I got with Troy and he told me sure no problem just let me finish up my trailers I have.
A perfect example of two fabricators working together helping a fellow ring member enjoy his hobby.
BTW. Troy isnt that four pieces of angle iron holding the ring that supports the disco? Good choice on material my Friend. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

ecave, Thank you! You would think after a few shipped discos that the FedEx lady would know by now, but I guess not
Maniac, Thanks! It should look pretty cool burning at night.
Kevin, Thanks for the kudos brother, and thanks for the all the leg work with the logo. Always a good time sharing the fabrication and build process with you my friend.

Not sure what's after trifocals my friend, but you might want to check, no where does it say anything about angle iron _________________ X2 Finished Build

Kevin my friend...you "might" have been a touch baited on that one
Thank You Mike, it was a fun build via the phone/text lines.
jess, Thank You
Ernie Thanks brother. Good to see you snooping around still now and then
ecave, The inner ring is 12" black pipe, the OD on it is 12 3/4". Yep, its overkill from hell, but I have abundance of it. I cut a 2" ring. The outer ring is hand rolled and I normally get them in at around 16" to 16.5". I use the 12" black pipe and vice grips to roll the metal. I use 1.5" x 1/8" flat strap for the outer ring. Hope that helps you out _________________ X2 Finished Build

Thanks Troy. I am working on a combo burner/stand like the first one Kevin did. I think Denny did one also.
I may do something different later on.
Thanks again. |

Awesome work as usual Troy and Kevin!!
Millstream, you’re going to enjoy this burner a lot!!
Troy made me a similar burner a while back and I love it
It’s the best thing that happened to my Disco
Troy may not know this, but I thank him every time I fire this burner |
