Hey guys. Im not a newb to BBQ, but I AM a newb to competition. I want to enter a few "backyard" category comps in the near future but I am at a loss as to what I need to do it. I know in the backyard comps you dont have to cook all 4 meats and some you can just do one, which is what I'm looking to do. Besides the meat, the cooker, and a tent...what else do I need to get this thing going? Im already a member of KCBS with a name for my team (my wife and I). Ill just be doing butts and use my WSM for that.

Anyone wanna run down a lit of things I will need to bring with me to the comp? Keep in mind that I have never done this and really have no clue where to start. Any help?

Someone once said make a list of everything you think you need and then bring half of it.

Well I would make the list an then do a full scale practice run in the dirve way start to finish. And then everything yo run back into the house to grab add it to the list. That shoudl then be about right.

Cleanup needs can be easily over looked, unless you just box it all up and take it home to clean.
