|
|
Today Debbie and I smoked a turkey for a gumbo I will prepare Sunday for my office. We also smoked a 3.5 lb chuck roast for our supper.
The turkey seasoned up with T-Boy's.
On the smoker.
After resting ready to carve up for tomorrow.
The chuck roast went on just before the turkey.
How about some ABT's and bacon wrapped corn.
The ABT's, corn and roast on the cooker.
ABT's and corn finished.
The roast after resting.
Chopped up.
A little ajus and BBQ sauce mixed in.
Chopped beef sandwich, ABT's and corn. This was a fine meal.
More gumbo pics tomorrow. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

I really hate drooling on my keyboard as they cost too much to replace, but DAMN!! Bacon wrapped corn? Really?!? You throw something like that in there and it's time to get the damn kettle out again, lol. Fine work my man!! _________________ BBQ, friends/family, a nice cigar and a fine glass of scotch. Note: For those that try the corn just before you take it off the cooker stand them on end and place a dollop of butter on each one and let it melt in.
Thank You Marv, yes the bacon wrapped corn is very good.
Thank You Maniac, give it a try it is worth it.
Thank You TX727, get busy Brother.

Kevin, everything is looking good.
I'm sure the gumbo will be fantastic.
Is that a piece of expanded metal under that chuckie?
It's funny, awesome looking bird, fine looking roast, a pile of ABT's, and the corn steals the show. |

k.a.m. that's one fine piece of art there. What i would have done though, is i would have also cut a piece of turkey breast just to sample. We wanna make sure the turkey came out good. I'm sure the office will understand if they find a chunk missing. _________________ WSM 18.5"

Kevin your Turkey and Chuck came out looking beautiful! Man I haven't had an ABT in a year and that was just hard to look at.....love the looks of the bacon wrapped corn, I'll have to give that a try. Glad to see you enjoying a day with the cooker. We had a 12" snow and a 13" snow 5 days apart, with 25 to 30 mph north winds. I thought this winter was in the rearview mirror and then BAM!! Mrs K.C. requested a Porterhouse today....first time she has had a taste for steak in a year....I almost ran over her going to the freezer and she said she wished I moved that fast when she makes other requests I'm looking forward to digging one of the grills out today and hope to get a smoker fired up before too long!! _________________ http://kchawgskitchen.blogspot.com/

k.a.m. you always seem to come up with something special, that bacon/corn looks great.
However I seem to have seen several of your roasted turkeys and they always look so darn perfect and delicious, man you really have cooking them dialed in.
If you don't mind my asking, is the T-Boy's seasoning commercially available or is it something you make? |

Thank You Rick, The corn is always a hit Brother. It has been so long ago I cannot even remember who posted the corn it just stuck with me.
Thank You Tom.
Well 3 lbs. of okra and a little more simmering and were done.
A taste test bowl was needed with a couple of home made sour dough wheat rolls.
