Nice selection of smokes there CB, very nice indeed. A buddy of mine loves the RP Summer collection. It's been too damn hot to enjoy a cigar outside around here. Hope all is well.

That's funny roxy!

Hey Dan .....all is good on my end...it has been pretty hot and humid our way as well....I don't think there is a bad RP cigar out there .....Some of these RP will give a good cuban a run for their money.

Nice collection CB! You got a walk-in humidor now? If not, maybe it is time to build one! Wink

I'm waiting for a package of small Cuban Montecristos to arrive shortly. Promised some buddies I would bring next weekend for our 35th HS reunion. Also ordered a small package of the "Josey Wales" size ones since it brought the bill up enough to avoid shipping costs. Smile

Well, now that we are into the heating season I find my humidity dropping again. Down to 67, but I am on top of it this time. What are you folks using during the heating season to make up for the dry air in the house? I bought a few humidity control packets last year once I got the humidor stabilized and I guess that is what I will do. I do not have the humidor near the radiator, window or fireplace but it is in a room with all 3. I really do not want to put it in the basement. I like to be able to look as my stash from time to time. Smile

PS: I have a shipment of Cubans coming so I definitely want it in eyesight. Wink

Have you looked into humidification beads? They're inexpensive and hold humidors to specific humidity levels. I forget what their brand name is, but they're fairly commonly available.

No, I haven't BigOrson. My humidifier has beads in it and I use a water/glycol mix but that has not been enough in the winter. Isn't that what is in the control packets that are supposed to maintain a certain level?

I have good results with Heartfelt beads. I think the company name is Heartfelt industries.

I ordered some Boveda packs as they worked pretty well for me last year.

If anyone is interested, 15% off for the next 15 days on cigars:

I think I might have partially figured out my humidity problem. Threw a few cardboard coasters over the glass the other day and noticed one slipped into a sizable gap between the glass and the wood lid. Thinking that in the winter the wood shrinks a bit and might be letting air in/out through the gap I used some clear silicone sealer between the glass and the lid. Humidity is slowly rising. Ever so slowly, but I suppose that is probably a good thing.

Patruns...hope that solves your problem...I was never a fan of glass top humidors...just makes for to many areas to let air in or out if it does not have a good seal...as you may have found out.....if a coaster can slide in between the glass and wood ....that's a big gap.
